Keeping up with the world of SEO and all it encompasses can be pretty difficult. There’s plenty of information out there, whether you’re just starting out and you’re in the process of picking up the basics, or you’re looking to keep up with all of the latest news and updates – it can be a bit hard to keep up at times.
One of the best ways of actually keeping abreast of what’s happening in SEO would be by listening to SEO podcasts. Ultimately, who reads anymore? I mean, apart from you, right now, of course. Thanks again for that. Anyway, there are plenty of SEO and digital marketing podcasts out there which can provide you with all the news and opinions to your heart’s content.
So, if you’re on the lookout for SEO podcasts to listen to, which ones are the best to check out? Here’s a helpful selection of the best SEO podcasts out there right now, covering what they talk about and an example of one of their shows.
Experts on the Wire
Hosted by Dan Shure, Experts on the Wire covers a pretty wide range of subjects within the SEO + digital marketing sphere, and has held host to a large number of interviews with some of the brightest minds in the industry.
Being someone that’s been in the SEO industry for over 10 years, Dan himself gets heavily involved, tapping into his own experience and providing fantastic insights along with his guests.
The interviews cover a wide set of subjects, covering the interviewee’s history in the industry and the insights that they can provide on their particular specialities. An example of a fairly recent interview would be episode 112, which featured a chat with Martin Splitt – a developer at Google. It covered areas such as rendering time, crawl budget, Google’s fetching of scripts on a page, as well as questions taken directly from Twitter.
This is a fantastic show, and while it may not be out every week, there are over 100 episodes spanning the past few years, with all of them being worth listening to if you’re into expanding your SEO knowledge.

Open Dialogue
One of the more recently launched podcasts in the SEO sphere with 10 episodes to its name, Open Dialogue is hosted by Sam Marsden of Deepcrawl, and aims to provide interviews with some of the brightest minds in the industry.
In its first few episodes so far, it has included discussions with the likes of Areej AbuAli, Stephen Kenwright, and Jamie Alberico. Each episode can also be found on the Deepcrawl site in text form, essentially providing a full article on everything covered in the pod. For instance, in episode 8 with Jamie Alberico, the accompanying post includes areas discussed such as her background in the industry, what her current role entails, speaking at conferences, how SEOs can work with developers, etc.
Though in a relatively nascent stage compared to other pods on this list, it’s a great listen that really provides insights in a very personable way.

Page 2 Podcast
In a similar vein to Open Dialogue and Authority Hacker, the Page 2 Podcast – hosted by Jacob Stoops and Jeff Louella – focuses on the experiences of seasoned SEOs. As described by themselves, it acts as a study of the real-life people behind the generation of organic traffic – offering insights into their best and worst experiences, advice for anybody wanting to get into the industry, and what it’s really like working as an SEO.
They’ve had a wide array of guests, some of whom have featured on other podcasts in this list, but they do a great job of getting people with very different backgrounds involved. For instance, episode 14 with Nick Eubanks covers how he started his first company at 19, the impacts of technical SEO changes, and what led him to help create Traffic Think Tank. Another example would be episode 33 with Patrick Stox, which covers how he got into becoming a developer before getting into SEO.
It’s also broken into different seasons, with everything from episode 26 onwards being a part of season 2.
It’s a different format to most other SEO podcasts, and it’s absolutely worth checking out – these kinds of podcasts which help provide helpful information in the form of personal stories and experiences are fantastic to listen to.

The Recipe for SEO Success
Stemming from a series of courses revolving around SEO, the Recipe for SEO Success podcast is hosted by Kate Hoon, who has prepared these courses more for smaller businesses, bloggers, and marketers who don’t necessarily have much, if any, experience directly with SEO.
With that in mind, this podcast is generally shorter than other SEO podcasts you’ll find, and is targeted more towards that kind of user base, resulting in a show which is super accessible.
Like many other SEO podcasts, various episodes include interviews with special guests. Previous episodes have included interviews with the likes of Jeff Bullas, Cyrus Shephard, and even a direct Q&A with Google’s own John Mueller.

Authority Hacker
A podcast which has nearly 200 episodes to its name since its inception in 2016, Authority Hacker is hosted by Gael Breton and Mark Webster, with the aim of sharing their personal experiences and knowledge gained within the industry, referencing their own work when it comes to growing websites and companies.
Quite a few of their episodes cover the growth of sites, including case studies from both themselves and a selection of guests. For instance, episode 138 – featured on the podcast’s Soundcloud page, covers how they sold an 18-month-old site for six figures. Other more recent subjects include the analysis of 600,000 outreach emails, a retrospective look at 2019, as well as interviews with experts on particular subjects.
With a more relaxed sort of environment being provided, this pod does well to provide an enjoyable listen while also providing plenty of fresh information.
